Maureen Holasek M.D. is a board certified physician specializing in Radiation Oncology having been in private practice in Florida for over 25 years. Dr. Holasek graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, finishing Summa Cum Laude from the College Scholars program (with an emphasis in Zoology), equivalent to a masters degree.

She then attended medical school at the University of Tennessee, completing her medical degree from E. Tennessee State University. Internal medicine internship was then completed at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Following this, Dr. Holasek did her residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota, serving as a chief resident her senior year.

 

After one year on academic staff at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Holasek moved to central Florida and has been in private practice for over 25 years.

Dr. Holasek specializes in the treatment of breast, prostate, lung, head and neck, gastrointestinal as well as skin cancers.

 

Dr. Holasek has extensive training in 3-D treatment planning, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT), and Stereotactic Radiosurgery. After Receiving special certification in Stereotactic Radiosurgery utilizing the Cyberknife technology, she served as medical director at Central Florida Regional Hospital. A successful program of partial breast irradiation was implemented by Dr. Holasek utilizing high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR) and the Accuboost technology.

She has been an active and long-standing member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), as well as other professional societies.

Dr. Holasek is a proud physician member of Sand Lake Cancer Center and is happy to be practicing at this institution in the field of Radiation Oncology, working out of the Stonerock Office, serving southwest Orlando and Kissimmee and Polk County.
